Supported Employment Program
MORE’s Supported Employment Program (SEP) assists adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities in finding competitive work in community-based businesses. Defined by the 1986 Rehabilitation Act Amendment, SEP helps individuals secure jobs that align with their strengths, goals, and informed choices through a “place then train” approach.
The program provides work skills assessments, job search assistance, job coaching, and follow-along services. SEP also emphasizes the use of natural supports—resources available in the individual’s environment such as co-workers, family, and community members—to ensure a positive working relationship between the employee, employer, and co-workers.
Through this life-expanding program, SEP helps create opportunities for sustainable employment and personal growth.
